SUB DUB MICROMACHINE
SETTLE 4 FORCE
black cookie records

ALIEN TO THE SYSTEM – gründeten sich im Jahr 2011 in Hannover.

With a career spanning two decades, the critically acclaimed, and genre defining band SKREW, returns with it’s industrialized metal ferocity. With their new album “Universal Immolation”, SKREW is ready to take it’s riot out on the streets.
Called the future of industrial noise by SPIN Magazine, having the biggest selling debut on Metal Blade Records at the time of it!s release and having received many more critical accolades such as being chosen one of the ten best metal albums by Guitar Player Magazine for the “Dusted” album in the year of it!s release, as well as appearing on the Grammy nomination list for best metal with the song She Said, SKREW has historically been known for their groundbreaking mix of industrial and metal that reflects the chaos and anger created by the corporate slave state in which we live, an orchestrated miasma of sound which at times could be the soundtrack to a riot or your worst nightmare.
Fueled by anger at the present global state of affairs, mastermind Adam Grossman had only one goal in mind: to create the soundtrack for the coming of days. Combining unrelenting drums and brutal guitars, laying in a bed of electronic discomfort, and laced with smart scathing vocals, SKREW has returned.
Known for their jaw dropping live performances and groundbreaking production both in North America and Europe, SKREW are playing their first live shows in a decade. With a brandnew lineup, this version of SKREW promises to be the strongest, most ferocious to date.

Had an appointment with the band and was allowed to be present at their sound checks. “Happy as a kid in a candy store”, was your little “cheeserocka”….and to be witness of this !
( although I had the same experience last year after Hawklords first EU tour since a little more than 25 years in Holland and Belgium….)
Specially as the “curiousity” concerned the first time the new Hawklords album was to be played before a (paying) live audience. So no “old shop” at all to put it Dickensonian….
Most curious I was, how the new songs would sound. And I was not to be disappointed; most positively amazed actually about the first soundcheck (and new) song “we are one”: it blew me out of my shoes as they started the check first with guitar, bass, drums, Ron Tree joining in singing after a minute or two.
And it was pure rock ‘n roll, very good rock in the best sence of the word!
but not for long as Harvey (“terrorist” and “Maggie’s lover ” Bainbridge☺☺☺) had his synths & keyboard ready to join… and took it all to a higher level.
Great is was indeed and most promising for the concert!
Specially as the synths & keyboard version will be the one you lads and lassies will hear. Masters of the Universe followed and in an empty ( no crowd) room, giving the name “flying Dutchman”a new meaning….
And no, neither alcohol nor drugs were running around my brain….!!!
Two more short songs followed to please the guy behind the PA and all was well and bloody well ( excuez le mot), I dare say !
Time for some talk & greetings in which Ron Tree and Jerry Richards kindly explained me how the ideas and their own interests and ideas in and about music, society, environment and poetry converged beautifully together, transformed or better transcended in a mutual creative cooperation of all the band members together into this new excellent album.
All was set for a good night out… or as Blue Öyster Cult .. who had the pleasure of the helping hand by a great writer (Elric saga)…
London’s Michael Moorcock (The Chronicle of the Black Sword DVD and Warrior on the Edge of Time LP) in the past, would say..ready for “Some Enchanted Evening”
It was most certainly a most enchanting evening, even more than that !
As for the astounding sounds of the Hawklords, my description lifted a little bit of the curtain of which goodies to expect.
And indeed… a lot of goodies it was, and how beautiful, fine en eye (and ear) opening!
A combination of old and most popular by the fans material (obviously as no fan would like, want, accept to be without it…), songs from their new album in which the latter songs were a true warm bath and most pleasant surprise in a new dimension of “spacerock”. If we are allowed to call Hawklord’s music from the new album as such! Like Micheal Moorcock’s “eternal champion saga” transgressed and took us into plural multiverses through protagonists Hawkmoon, Elric, von Bek and yet being one and the same, this is also applicalbe for the present Hawklords and their new album.
After their 1978 first and only album “25 years on” this is again (just like in 1978) a 100% proof that they have taken us again 25 years on (which utterly up to the point was the last song of the gig, not counting the encore) taking us 25 years on as they evolved from the “traditional” sound and songs and took ti all to a new level.
Poetry and passion, yet occasionally “punky-ish”, still heavy and spacy, with lyrics that relate muchbetter and more to our present day lifes.
Be it in our own micro cosmos ( personal life) or a wider perspective (the earth we live on and all its threaths and potential future).
“Chapeau” is the acurate and to the point french word which comes first to my mind! and Indeed I bow with respect for this beautiful piece, which will also please my 18 year old daughter and her generation very much. Honors given where honors are due as not many bands ( specially looking at the age of the members have the mindset and agility to thread on such new paths with such energy and resulting / providing such quality as well!) .
What is there more to say about the concert…?
Well… it goes without saying that the well known songs were performed as one could expect it; outstanding and driving the audience to happiness.
The new songs were greeted with more than sympathy and immediately incorporated (also by the high quality of performance) by the crowd as new future “classics”. Jolly good show and Englishman would say.
No need to talk about the way they played the instruments as that is of course excellently done !
A special word nevertheless on Ron Tree and his performance; the absence of Nik was not at all negatively perceived, neither by the crowd nor by me (being an almost 40 year follower of the band ) as Mr. Ron Tree (in the tradition of former lead singers, moreover their performances such as the Mr. “Space Ritual” Turner and Poet Mr. Calvert) did fill and take over the stage after a nice start into a wonderful show and made it an performance to enjoy. Also for “newbees” to their music.
He grew by each song ending the concert in a great climax.
“I am the Wind” is a most interesting poetic song, for the elder ones one amongst usI could say in the style of sonic attack, 10 seconds of forever or Calvert’s “co pilot of spaceship Earth, for the less older ones in the style of activism and poetry punk poetry of late 70ies and 80ies, and for the younger ones poetry slammish.
Whatever… it is an excellent declamation when done by the one and only Mr Ron Tree in his alter ego of the song!
Nice to see where in the past mini moogs, moogs, mellotrons and synths did the job, Ron Tree used only one small apparatus to do the trick.
Releaving “the Squire” of some work and letting him concentrate on giving us the full Monty, as Hawklord Harvey always does…
So then over to the set list : Earth Calling, We are One, Aerospace Inferno, Ancietn Ones, Master of the Universe, Spark in the Dark, Dreamworker, the Mothership, PSI Power, Time Split Vision, Uncle Sam’s on Mars, Wake Up, Robot, Digital Age, I am the Wind , Spirit of the Age, Flight, Brainstorm, 25 Years on.
Truly I can highly recommend you to go to Hawklords’ concert and convince yourself … see where you’re at and know what I mean….the ( most welcome) spirit of the ( or in this case a ) new age…of Hawklords !
This was your captain speaking….you’re captain is…..

Ray Gibson is releasing his debut album, “Fishing Muddy Puddles”. Recorded with Producer Tom Krimi in Berlin, the album is being mixed and mastered now and will be ready to share with media partners in December 2011.
We are looking for a publishing company to support the Spring 2012 release and tour. The album will be released digitally and physically and fully supported by a professional Promotions agency from Berlin.
Ray’s songs stand on their lyrics, and his unique voice. Described equally as a tenor and as a baritone, Ray’s vocal range and warmth delivers his songs to your head and heart. His melodies are catchy, but no-one would describe this music as pop. His guitar work is intimate, but not always slow or quiet!
The mood is melancholic and moody, but Ray is always careful to include a sense of hope in his work. His defining style is set in songs like
Modern Earth, Supersonic Morning, and Grief.
Ray is a professional artist. Born in the UK, he relocated to Prague in 1999 and then to his new home in Berlin in 2009 where he writes music and paints.
He plays LIVE alone with guitar, and also as a 3-piece band with cello and percussion/drums.

First Album Mixes!
The 3 album singles – Modern Earth, Red Ribbon and Supersonic Morning – have just been mixed with Producer Tom Krimi.
Adding all the live instruments made a huge difference to the mix, replacing all the plug-ins used in the demos. Many thanks go to: Mr Hirata – French Horn / Helen Bauerfeld – Violin / Martin Knoerzer – Cello / Alex Cool – Double Bass / Ingo keymaster – Harpsichord / Steffen – Trumpet / Jan – Clarinet Michael Weilacher – Percussion
Note, if publishers or others from the music bizz would like to download the files, they just have to send an email for a password request to firstname.lastname@example.org
Modern Earth is the first single and the first track of the album. The lyrics are a melancholy tale of dissatisfaction with the status of things. They were written at Ray’s lowest point in 2010, with no cash, ill health and few prospects while the world seemed to be advancing into more and more war fronts all over the place and the full effects of the economic crash of 2008 were beginning to show. The melotrome is a characteristic sound in this recording, with pizzicato cello, and French horns joining the last screaming choruses. Work has just begun on the video shoot in Berlin, with Director Pedro Malacas…
Red Ribbon takes these themes to a fictional setting – a couple falling in love just before World War II starts. We follow the main character – a gardener – from home, across the landing beaches and into muddy and cold Western Europe as the war begins to rage. His only grip on reality and hope is the memory of his girl back home, and the ribbon she wore in her hair when they first met. In recording, the guitar was gradually replaced by a chamber orchestral arrangement, with cello playing the second voice on the track. Live harpsichord sets the pace and rhythm of the song, and also put the sound of the production nicely in the past…
At the end of the album, Supersonic Morning is a reward for listening to some quite tough stories already. It is about waking up dead, in space with your favorite rock stars – Elvis, George Harrison and John Lennon. It is a pure celebration of life, the Universe and everything. This track includes a lot of loud instruments and big marching band bass drums, the moog voyager, a victory trumpet and a full choir of friends for the last choruses. No compromises were made in production, and no consideration taken of how the track should be played LIVE. This song has been tried and tested in concerts already as a live trio of percussion, guitar and vocal and glock… everyone always joined in to clap along to the choruses:
“Find me out on an asteroid performing, Talking whalebirds and clapping shiny hands (clap, clap!), I am born on a Supersonic Morning, Tonight, I stand !!!”.
